Divide centipoise by 1,000 to get pascal seconds. SAE 10W-30 motor oil has a viscosity of about 65-110 cP (0.065-0.110 Pa·s) at 40°C. Water at 20°C is about 1 cP (0.001 Pa·s) for reference.

The oil industry primarily uses centipoise (cP) for dynamic viscosity and centistokes (cSt) for kinematic viscosity. SAE grades correlate to viscosity ranges - SAE 30 oil is about 9.3-12.5 cSt at 100°C. API specifications also reference these units.

Honey has a viscosity of about 2,000-10,000 cP (2-10 Pa·s) depending on temperature and type. Ketchup is around 50,000-70,000 cP. Olive oil is about 80 cP and maple syrup about 150-200 cP at room temperature.

Divide poise by 10 to get pascal seconds, or equivalently, 1 poise equals 0.1 Pa·s. The poise (named after Jean Poiseuille) is a CGS unit, while pascal second is the SI standard. Most modern engineering specs use Pa·s or mPa·s.

The reyn (lbf·s/in²) is an Imperial viscosity unit named after Osborne Reynolds. It equals 6,894.76 Pa·s. It appears in older American engineering references and bearing design calculations but has largely been replaced by SI units in modern practice.
