Frequently asked questions

It depends on game size. Ten 50 GB games total 500 GB, which takes about 11.1 hours at 100 Mbps. Ten smaller 10 GB indie games total 100 GB and take about 2.2 hours.

If each photo averages 5 MB, the total is 5 GB. At 100 Mbps that takes about 6.7 minutes. At 50 Mbps it takes about 13.3 minutes. RAW photos at 25 MB each would total 25 GB and take about 33 minutes at 100 Mbps.

Downloading several files simultaneously splits your bandwidth between them. Each file gets a fraction of your total speed. The overall total time is roughly the same but individual files finish slower. Sequential downloads can sometimes be faster due to reduced overhead.

A typical Steam library with 100 games averaging 30 GB each totals about 3 TB. At 100 Mbps that takes roughly 2.8 days of continuous downloading. At 1 Gbps fiber it drops to about 6.7 hours.

Use the average file size for a rough estimate. If your files range from 100 MB to 2 GB, use an average like 500 MB. For more accuracy, group files by size and calculate each group separately then add the times together.
